President's Message
2010-05-25
Welcome to the 2010 MYF&C Season!Milford Youth Football and Cheerleading and the Board of Directors would like to WELCOME you to the 2010 season. Our biggest goal is to provide your son or daughter with a rewarding experience that will bring them back to the sport year after year. MYF&C has not stopped since the end of last season planning and executing ideas to make our organization better. We will not become complacent on our recent success stories. Long term vision and our goal to have our sports program as the premier organization in the region will continue to drive our decisions.
I can tell you that the vision of MYF is firmly in place and now the execution of the strategies will become a priority in the next few years. The principles that guide our organization will drive us to become an exceptional youth organization building on our rich past.
The strategies that we will work from will not be accomplished by a select few of individuals. Your involvement will be critical in this process. Each of you have different skill levels that we can use for the growth to continue. Our areas of need now:
-Cheerleading and Football coaches to assist our head coaches.
-Accounting and Finance individuals to assist in budgeting
-Marketing support to promote our organization in a positive manner and to develop alternative revenue sources
-Parent Relations
-Special events
Please me for discussions on participation.
Our season will begin where most of our teams finished, working towards making the playoffs. 70% of our teams reached the playoffs last year in a new league for us and a league well documented as one of the most difficult in Cincinnati to compete in.
The season will have other high pts. The MYF&C partnership with The University of Cincinnati Bearcats will again deliver the premier pre-season event- Gridiron Classic. ALL parents will be needed the Sat AUG 7th and 14th to assist in this fantastic event. Times will vary for your participation, but this is a very rewarding event from all fronts. Additionally, the weekend of Aug 14 is season weight-ins.
In the coming weeks, our board will approve new away(white) game jerseys. We are going to be adding even more practice equipment from last year’s sizable expenditures. The board is requiring that ALL head coaches and where possible assistant coaches, participate in off season advanced youth training. In both cases for football and cheerleading, our coaches are becoming certified. MYF&C strongly believes that our coaches and their training are absolutely critical for our kid’s future success.
MYF&C have invested energy in strengthening our relationships with our HS coaches. Our principle goal is to teach the HS strategies at every age level. We believe this strategy will put our kids at a competitive advantage in the future. We are planning now for two very detailed meetings with the HS coaches. We have asked for and they are providing a “building” program focusing on their concepts. The “program” will now begin at our 5 and 6 age group.
We are continuing to work with Miami Twp on ways to make our football fields better, safer, and ready for the season. MYF&C has a 10 year agreement with Miami Twp to deliver an excellent venue for our home games.
You will see these things and more throughout the season.
Much of what we accomplish comes from dedicated parents spending countless hours. Many of our goals do require a financial investment. Our goal is to really minimize fund raising activities. When we do have an event such as the Gridiron, we need your participation.
I will ask you for help this year on a different front. I would like for you to contact your business relationships and ask for support in the form of sponsorships. We have several options and this strategy will allow us to accomplish even more.
Review our website for sponsorship packages and all of our upcoming events.
Be positive in everything you do this season. Make some new friends. Help your child to have a fantastic experience and grow in this sport. It all begins with your involvement. Every Board member is prepared to meet your needs and deliver on building MYF.
See you July 19 for the first practice or this weekend for equipment handouts.
Sincerely,
Mike Stahanczyk
President, MYF
